Right wing talk show host Alex Jones made comments about Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. In December 2012 the elementary school is where the mass-shooting occurred in Newtown, Connecticut . Alex Jones followed the tragic incident making claims that the shooting was a "giant hoax".
The jury ruled this week and decided Jones caused punitive damages from his comments towards Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. During closing arguments, Farrar urged jurors to end what he called their nightmare and hold Jones accountable for profiting off their son’s death.
The Jury found Alex Jones guilty and decided he should be responsible for his words. The jury agreed to a payout of $4.1 million dollars to families. Words do matter. Especially when speaking on sensitive situations.
