New York state is adding a new addition to the gun application screening process. If you want to carry a concealed firearm license you will have to submit your social media accounts for screening. The supporters of this new law says it provides a clearer view of applicants character and conduct. Gun safety advocates along with many politicians from both Democratic and Republican parties approve of the added step.
There are many questions surrounding the new law. Some law makers and experts are concerned with the "right of freedom of speech" and how the law will be enforced. The new addition will take effect in September signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul.
