Miami's Gonna Be A Scooter Town

The City of Miami Commission is discussing amending the city’s code regarding motorized scooters, with an ordinance to amend Chapter 8.

The code would make the scooter program permanent, with increased fees for scooter operators and penalties for violators.

You’re supposed to be 18 years old to ride, and only one person may ride at a time. Users can scoot around on the street, preferably in the bike lanes, and slowly on sidewalks.

Lyft, one of the biggest in the scooter game, in areas, like Brickell and Bayside.

Lyft’s Miami General Manager says “Safety always comes first and we continue to take multiple actions to support riders, our team members, and our city partners.”
