Kendrick Lamar once again joined cousin Baby Keem on two new tracks!
"Range Brothers"and "Vent", are featured on Keem's new album The Melodic Blue, along with "family ties", which was Kendrick's first verse in over a year.
"My art is 99.9% feeling and .1% technicality. the world will feel it soon come. the people. The Melodic Blue" said Keem.
"family ties", entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 18, earning Keem his first top 40 hit and Lamar’s highest-charting song since 2018.
Last week Baby Keem released “family ties” and the video featured Keem, Lamar, and Normani and was directed by Dave Free.
The two cousins, announced the single on Instagram, which is produced by Cardo and appears to be the lead into his debut album.
Lamar's longtime engineer Derek "MixedByAli" Ali recently shared Kendrick's unreleased vault of music runs deeper than expected.
"For Kendrick alone, let me say I think we could put together like six albums," says Ali. "Everyone's the same way, it's all about just understanding that you could always do something better. It's having that mindset to just strive for the best possible version of you. That's Kendrick's whole mind state, always striving to do better. Whether it's recording a new verse, you know he would record a whole song and get one ad-lib back a month later because he don't like how he breathed the ad-lib, you know?"
Any recording artist has a stockpile of unreleased material but when you can go six albums deep that is true dedication of work.
