Man Wins $1,000 A Week For Life

Rodney Crozier, of Pembroke Pines, was fortunate enough to make a million bucks, after he hit for a $1,000 a Week for Life prize in the multi-state CASH4LIFE game.

Crozier bought the lotto ticket as a quick pick at Publix and the store gets a $2,000 bonus commission.

The game offers a chance to win $1,000 a Day for Life or $1,000 a Week for Life.

Crozier’s score came in the Jan. 24 drawing, a day after a man from Cutler Bay won a $2 million prize from Powerball.

Days after the $731.1 million Powerball winner was sold, a South Florida man had his own win in the lottery game.

Everett Kurtz, of Cutler Bay, won a $2 million prize from the Powerball drawing, the next drawing after the nine-figure jackpot in Maryland.

Kurtz’s ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers but did not match the Powerball. His ticket was bought at a 7-Eleven, and the store receives a $5,000 bonus commission for selling it.

A South Florida man won a seven-figure cash prize on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game.

Rodrigo Quesada, won a $1 million prize on the $5,000,000 CASHWORD Scratch-Off game. Quesada chose to receive his winnings as a onetime, lump-sum payment of $780,000.

The $5,000,000 CASHWORD game features eight top prizes of $5 million and 24 second-tier prizes of $1 million. Tickets cost $20 a piece, with odds of winning are nearly one-in-three. The odds of winning the top prize are more than one-in-4-million.

Quesada bought his winning ticket at the Stop N Shop convenience.

In December Genner Hernandez, of Fort Lauderdale, claimed a $2 million top prize on the 100X Scratch-Off game. He took a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,605,000.

Scratch-off games make up about 75% of ticket sales.
