Breakfast Club Reacts To Nicki Minaj's New Songs

 Nicki Minaj Breakfast Club

DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God gave their opinions and opened up the phone lines to see what the listeners thought of Nicki Minaj's two new tracks "Chun-li" and "Barbie Tingz." While Nicki shook the music world up with the release of the two tracks, Charlamagne felt like the timing was off because it's currently "Cardi season."

"I just feel like the timing is a bit off. Timing is important," Charlamagne said. "She came out and shook things up yesterday but you can't have a conversation about Nicki without having a conversation about Cardi right now. All of that does is honestly make Cardi bigger," he continued. "Neither one of these records is smashes. "Chun-li" is cool. I don't like "Barbie Tingz" at all but I'm just happy Nicki is back spittin'. If you don't got no smashes that are going to change the course of the conversation altogether, I think your timing is just a tad bit off on this one."

Callers seemed split down the middle on how they felt about Nicki's new tracks. Listen below:

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Nicki explained how Cardi B and Quavo hurt her feelings after the release of "Motor Sport." "The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out. With ‘MotorSport,’ I kinda felt ambushed," Nicki explained. The first thing that came out of her mouth about a Nicki Minaj feature was ‘she changed the verse’ … When it was time to clear the air about that, no one did that. All of them allowed me to look like I lied.”

Minaj continued: “Up until this recent interview that she did, I had never seen her show me genuine love," Minaj said with tears forming in her eyes. "I could just imagine how many girls wish they could have been on a song with Nicki Minaj. I’m not saying in it a cocky way, but yikes … It’s because of the Nicki hate train that she felt like she could speak about me in that manner."
