Plans for the official public monument honoring the victims of the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting have reached a major milestone. The Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation announced that engineering plans are actively underway, clearing the path for physical construction to begin on the sacred site.
The project has transitioned into this critical development stage thanks to an in-kind donation by East Coast Builders of Florida, who are completing the complex architectural and engineering drawings needed to build the structure.
The permanent public memorial is being constructed on a 150-acre nature preserve along the border of Parkland and Coral Springs.
