Ye made a successful return to Mexico over the weekend, but it was his daughter, North West, who was the real star of the show.
On Friday, January 30, the artist formerly known as Kanye West traveled to Mexico City to perform for the first time in nearly two decades. He entered Monumental Plaza de Toros La México on the first of his two-night stay and performed classics like "Heartless," “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “N***as in Paris,” “Mercy,” “Blood on the Leaves,” and more in front of over 40,000 fans. Once he got to "Only One," Ye brought out his 12-year-old daughter to help him out.
North West appeared in the middle of the arena with long, blue hair, a black ensemble and oversized sunglasses. While she was on stage, North West also showcased some of her latest work. She performed songs like "Piercing On My Hand," which is inspired by a real piercing she got on her right hand. She originally previewed the song on the TikTok account she shares with her mom, Kim Kardashian. She also performed other songs she's made with her dad, including “TALKING,” and “BOMB."
The pre-teen's foray in the music industry has become a spectacle among Ye's fans. They've watched her bloom from a featured artist on her father's VULTURES album to a active producer who's working with other celebrities' kids. Last year, North West collaborated with Lil Wayne's son, Lil Novi, and Mag!c for their first collaboration, "Justswagup." She also collaborated with FKA Twigs for her album EUSEXUA, which recently won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
