For their latest music video, Clipse and Tyler, the Creator team up with an eerie band of characters that look like they came straight out of a horror movie.
On Wednesday, December 10, Pusha T, Malice, and Tyler dropped the visuals for their prominent collaboration "P.O.V." In the video directed by Cole Bennett, the trio breaks bread during a dimly lit dinner inside a banquet hall while a band of creepy animatronic gorillas, bears, and dogs performs bars from their song. The curtains close soon after Push and Tyler finish performing their verses. When they reopen, the animatronics shed their skin and rap along to Malice's verse.
The weird visuals, which may have been inspired by films like Five Nights At Freddy's, come in support of Clipse's critically acclaimed album Let God Sort Em Out. It's the fifth video Push and Malice have released in recent months, including “F.I.C.O.” featuring Stove God Cooks, “So Be It,” “Chains And Whips” with Kendrick Lamar, and “The Birds Don’t Sing” featuring John Legend. The album dropped on July 11 and sold 118,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, per Billboard. Of the 118,000, Clipse garnered 58,000 pure album sales and 59,000 from streaming services.
Clipse's first album in 15 years earned them four Grammy nominations ahead of the 68th Grammy Awards. Let God Sort Em Out was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album. "So Be It" was nominated for Best Music Video, and "Chains & Whips" is in the running for Best Rap Performance. The Virginia natives will find out who will claim the biggest prize of the night during the Grammy Awards on February 1.
