The Clipse has revealed the tracklist for the highly anticipated album ahead of its release next week.
On Monday, June 30, the pre-order for Pusha T and Malice's Let God Sort Em Out appeared on streaming services. The 13-track album is executive produced by Pharrell Williams, who also appears on four tracks on the LP. Tyler, The Creator will also appear on the song "So Be It Part II" and Nas is featured on "Let God Sort Em Out/Chandeliers." Other artists like Stove God Cooks, The-Dream, Ab-Liva, John Legend and Voices of Fire also make appearances on the album.
Clipse also recruited Kendrick Lamar to join them on their song "Chains & Whips." The Virginia-based duo recently explained that the collaboration led to their split from their longtime label, Def Jam, amid their parent company UMG's legal battle with Drake. Push and Malice recently previewed the song during a listening session in Paris. During a recent interview, Pusha T explained how he locked in the controversial feature.
“Clipse and Kendrick together, that speaks lyricism," he said. "I don’t think anyone wants anything other than that. There was a traffic of people coming in and out of the studio and one of the people just happened to be a person from Kendrick’s camp."
“We let his folks hear the album," he continued. "He called them and was like ‘listen, you need to get on this’. At this particular time, he was super busy. He sent them songs over. He called back laughing like ‘okay, I gotta do it, don’t worry about it, I wanna do two.’ The idea of right place, right time makes everything happen.”
Let God Sort Em Out is Clipse's first album together in 15 years. The duo aim to perform songs from the LP during their upcoming tour with EARTHGANG. Look out for the album on July 11.
