TS Food Packaging recalled their "Rural King and Wabash Valley Farms Bacon Seasoning" sold in Florida, on January 24th due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.
According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled products, distributed online and to retail stores nationwide, contains "undeclared soy" which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to individuals allergic to the ingredient not listed on the product labels.
Consumers should avoid Rural King and Wabash Valley Farms Bacon Seasoning in 4.2 oz plastic jars with lot numbers "17324s,27824s, and 30324s," and 1oz sample gift packets with lot numbers "16524SP, 16624SP, 23424SP, 26324SP, 26424SP, 26724SP, 20624S, 20724S."
So far, there have been no allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled Rural King and Wabash Valley Farms Bacon Seasoning.
Officials are urging consumers who have already purchased a recalled jar or packet of the mislabeled Rural King and Wabash Valley Farms Bacon Seasoning to return the product to the place it was purchased for a full refund.
Concerned individuals with questions regarding the mislabeled products are encouraged to contact TS Food Packaging at "262-763-9434 between the hours of 8 am to 4 pm (central) or via email at mail@tsfoodpackaging.com."
