J. Cole has launched a brand-new blog in honor of his 40th birthday.
On Monday night, January 27, the North Carolina native published his first post on his new blog "The Algorithm" on his Inevitable website. Cole said he's always wanted "a lil blog for years" to "post random s**t I f**k with where the audience is way smaller than it is on the social media platforms." He also explained that his appreciation for Ahmad's 1994 hit "Back In The Day" inspired the post before he reflected on turning 40.
"Now at midnight I will turn 40," he wrote. "Might save the sentimentals for a post tomorrow. But in a nutshell I’m GRATEFUL."
"Happy new year to yall and God bless. 2025 will be a good one," he concluded.
It's not yet clear what fans can expect from Cole's new blog. He might share his thoughts about today's rap, cultural moments and more. He may use the platform to reveal more unknown facts about his career the way he did in his "Inevitable" series last year. Cole, his manager Ibrahim "Ib" Hamad and filmmaker Scott Lazer recapped the past 20 years of the "Middle Child" rapper's career from his early beginnings in Fayetteville until his third album 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which turned 10 last month. The Grammy award-winning artist celebrated the milestone last month at a massive sold-out anniversary show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
It's also possible Cole will use it to announce updates on his long-awaited albums The Fall-Off and It's A Boy. Fans have been impatiently waiting on both projects for years. The hype increased after he dropped his Might Delete Later mixtape last April and teased new music at his recent concert. Regardless of what Cole plans to do with the blog, fans are already locked in.
