Memphis Bleek is firing back at Dame Dash after the Roc-a-Fella co-founder claimed JAY-Z was his ghostwriter.

During a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Dash claimed Hov wrote "a lot of his rhymes" for Bleek while he was signed to Roc-a-Fella. At one point, the record executive said he thought "everybody knew" about it and even critiqued Bleek's work ethic at that time. After the clip went viral, the "Round Here" rapper denied Dash's claims and said “he wilding right now bro."

“I wish maybe I [would] still be lit," Bleek told one fan.

“These type of conversations Dame sparking is the reason #RocSolidPod gotta Drop!! 2025 we talking bout all this s**t," he continued on X. “And people said I was whack đŸ€” so if Jay wrote for me he whack to 😂.”

JAY-Z and Memphis Bleek collaborated several times throughout their careers from Hov's "Coming of Age" on his debut album Reasonable Doubt to Bleek's 2003 album M.A.D.E. The last time they joined forces on wax was in 2005 for the Brooklyn rapper's "Dear Summer" from his 534 album. The two artists have remained close ever since. During the interview, Dash also claimed Bleek was dependent on Hov.

“I’ve always had to push Bleek to put an album out," he said. "I personally think I wanted more for Bleek than Bleek wanted for himself... I would argue with him about, ‘Do your own show. Stop depending on this dude to do everything for you. You gotta do it on your own.'”
