Fat Joe is mourning the loss of his older brother after he passed away over the holiday weekend.
On Friday, November 29, the New York native announced that his sibling Angel Cartagena passed away on Thanksgiving morning. In his post, Joe posted a slew of throwback photos from their glory days and eulogized his late brother with a heartfelt message.
"Yo June, You was my Hero, my Inspiration," he wrote. "You taught me everything i know. You taught me how to be a man. When we was kids, i was WonTon Joe & you was MoneyLee! And Together we were the Keyok Brothaz…On some Kung Fu S**t!
"You Walked so that the Terror Squad could run," he continued. "You were the most giving person i ever known. Its been really rough for me having to tell my Nephew that his Father is no longer with us.. then having to tell my Mother that her favorite son Passed away. I ask that you pray for the Cartagena Family and just know that GOD is Always the greatest!! June i love you with all my Heart ♥️ until we meet again. RIP the Money Man . TS For Life 🕊️💔"
Fat Joe did not reveal a cause of death. After he posted a series of personal photos of him and his brother, Joe's army of celebrity friends hopped in the comment section to support him including DJ Khaled, Tony Sunshine and others. Angel's passing happened a year after Joe lost his close friend Raul Conde. The Terror Squad founder recently recognized the anniversary of Conde's death by visiting his grave in Miami.
