The race for a Florida elections chief is heading to a recount.

Just two votes separate Jennifer Frey and George Umasky in the Republican primary for St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections.

After tallying last night, Frey had the small win with 12,777 votes but under state law if a race returns a margin at or above .25 percent of the total vote, a manual recount is triggered. That recount has been scheduled for 7 a.m. on Friday.

The ultimate winner will face Democrat Elections Supervisor Gertrude Walker, who is seeking a 12th term. She was appointed to the position back in 1980.
