(Paris) -- French officials say the national train service has been targeted by several "malicious acts" ahead of the Paris Olympics. The opening ceremony for the Summer Games will be this afternoon in Paris.

This morning, French rail officials said arson attacks "aimed at paralyzing the high-speed line network" forced a number of trains to be canceled. The rail service said up to 800-thousand passengers were impacted by the massive attack and are now being asked to postpone trips.

The attacks come as French and international security officials are on high-security alert for the Olympics.
