Pieper Lewis is the Iowa teen that allegedly stabbed her rapist. He died from his victims stab wounds and she was later charged and convicted with his murder. Lewis was 15 years old when this horrific situation of repeated rape and sex traffic begin.
This week an Iowa judge order Lewis to pay her rapist's family $150,000. As reported by CNN;
Lewis would receive five years' probation, serve 200 hours of community service and pay $150,000 in restitution, plus more than $4,000 in civil penalties. The deferred judgment means this may be expunged from Lewis' record. Iowa law requires the court to sentence offenders to pay at least $150,000 in restitution if they kill another person.
The Iowa Starline reported, the Polk County District Judge David M. Porter based his ruling on a 2017 case involving an underage girl who committed a murder, according to the Des Moines Register.
Lewis was originally facing 20 years in prison. There has been a GoFundMe set up and over $200,000 raised by individuals that feel Judge Porter got it all wrong with justice for Pieper Lewis.
