Three People With Same Florida School Affiliation Die From COVID-19

Florida continues to have a hard time controlling the spread of COVID-19, and among the latest casualties are a mother and her 19-year-old son died less than a month apart of each other.

According to reports, Jacquline Byrd, 55, who died on Monday (8/10), used to be an employee at Fort Braden School, where her son, Jordan Byrd, was a part-time custodian at the grades K-8 campus.

One week after Jordan passed on June 19, his girlfriend’s mother also died from the virus. Karen Bradwell, 53, was the director of after-school programs at the same school where the mother and son worked.

"To my heart I will definitely miss you‼️ You and Jordan Byrd have both left me," Jacquline’s son and Jordan’s brother, Jacary Byrd, wrote on Facebook on Monday. "I know that you both are having a good time in the Lord. Mommy I will definitely miss you."

More than 17 percent of Floridians testing for the virus have come back positive, according to a rolling seven-day average compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
