‘Admitted KKK Leader’ Sentenced To 6 Years For Running Over BLM Protesters

A man responsible for driving his truck through a group of Black Lives Matter protesters in Henrico County, Virginia, has been sentenced to six years in prison.

According to court records, 37-year-old Harry Rogers was sentenced to 12 months in prison on Monday (Aug. 10) for each of the six misdemeanor charges including simple assault, destruction of property, and failure to stop at the scene of an accident. The suspect is still facing three felony charges, for those injured, of attempted malicious wounding.

Authorities say witnesses described a truck "revving their engine and drove through the protesters occupying the roadway” at a Black Lives Matter Protest on June 7. There are also reports that Rogers went live on Facebook while he was on his way to the incident, telling his friends to join him.

Prosecutors called the suspect “an admitted leader of the Ku Klux Klan and a propagandist for Confederate ideology" after KKK paraphernalia, multiple weapons, clips, and ammunition were found by local officers in Rogers’ home and truck during a search.

Rogers admitted to being a leader of a local KKK chapter.
