THE 4th ANNUAL OCP2 WELLNESS DAY FOR BROWARD COUNTY YOUTH, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITY PROVIDERSTO TAKE PLACE

The FREE event in Broward County will highlight the importance of mental health and suicide prevention
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Behavioral Health & Drug Prevention, Broward Behavioral Health Coalition and Broward County’s One Community Partnership 2 (OCP2) will host the 4th Annual OCP2 Wellness Day for youth, families, and community providers.
·The event will convey OCP2’s messaging about the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.
·This FREE event will include a full day of activities including Meditation, Massage Chairs, Kickball, Arts & Crafts, Poetry / Lyrical Expression, a Photo Booth and much more.
·There will also be a “Wellness Champions Award Recognition” ceremony that will recognize young people, families and community members who make a difference through their work and personal stories of hope and strength.
·OCP2 brings together Broward organizations who support youth with behavioral health challenges and their families. This system of care is part of a national movement through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to improve the lives of children, youth, and young adults. OCP2’s mission is to support the wellness, recovery and resiliency of youth and young adults with mental health challenges and substance abuse.
About Broward Behavioral Health Coalition (BBHC)
Broward Behavioral Health Coalition (BBHC), the Managing Entity for behavioral health services in Broward, is committed to the development of a recovery focused, integrated and comprehensive behavioral health system of care for providing treatment and support services to individuals and their families in Broward County, Florida. BBHC contracts with local agencies that offer services that are designed to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of the community. Services include prevention, intervention, assessment, case management, outpatient, intensive outpatient, day treatment, residential, crisis services, detoxification, clubhouse and drop-in centers, supported employment/education, supportive housing, peer support and additional supportive services. About One Community Partnership (OCP2)
One Community Partnership (OCP2) joins together all Broward organizations supporting youth with behavioral health challenges and their families. This system of care is part of a national movement through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to improve the lives of children, youth, and young adults.OCP2 is funded through an expansion grant to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners from SAMHSA.Broward County and the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition are working in collaboration on the OCP2 initiative.OCP2 works with youth and young adults (14-21) and their families who have had challenges with emotional and mental health, substances (like drugs and alcohol), and/or traumatic experiences.
