Boosie Badazz (born Torrence Hatch Jr.) finds himself at a pivotal crossroads. Later this month, he’s scheduled to be sentenced for a federal firearm charge stemming from his May 2023 arrest in San Diego.Though prosecutors recommended roughly a two-year sentence under his plea deal, the maximum exposure under the statute could reach up to 15 years.
Boosie is publicly holding onto hope. He has been actively petitioning for a presidential pardon, targeting Donald Trump while maintaining his stance that his gun-possession charge involves a “nonviolent felon” status. At the same time, he’s not letting the moment pass him by: On November 14, 2025, he is slated to release his collaborative project 225 Business with NBA YoungBoy — a shout out to Baton Rouge’s 225 area code and what promises to be a major street-and-studio moment.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 21, 2025.
