Sean Kingston (legal name Kisean Paul Anderson) is now seeking a presidential pardon in the wake of a major fraud conviction. His legal team confirms that both he and his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner, have submitted applications for clemency.
In a federal jury verdict handed down in March 2025, Kingston and Turner were found guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud, after orchestrating a scheme targeting luxury-goods vendors.
Between April 2023 and March 2024, prosecutors say Kingston used social media to lure sellers of high-end merchandise; like a bulletproof Escalade, designer watches and a 232-inch LED television; inviting them to his Broward County homes while promising social-media promotion and celebrity referrals.
Instead of paying, Kingston and his mother allegedly sent fake wire-transfer receipts to make it appear as though payment had been made, while the funds never cleared.
In August 2025, U.S. District Judge David S. Leibowitz sentenced Kingston to 42 months (roughly 3.5 years) in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Turner received a five-year sentence in July 2025.
Now, Kingston’s team is requesting that a presidential pardon be granted for both him and his mother. While pardon petitions are not uncommon, obtaining clemency remains a high bar—especially in federal white-collar cases involving more than a million dollars in alleged losses.
