Cam’ron is taking legal action against J. Cole, filing suit over their joint track Ready ’24. According to court documents filed in New York, Cam’ron claims he lent lyrics and a verse to the song back in 2022 with the understanding that Cole would either collaborate with him on a future project or appear on Cam’s podcast, It Is What It Is.
Despite the track being released in April 2024 on Cole’s mixtape Might Delete Later without Cam’ron’s fulfillment of that follow-through, Cam’ron alleges he was never paid or properly credited for his contribution. Furthermore, his suit argues that the song hit the market without his approval or final sign-off and that his compensation was never delivered.
Cam’ron is seeking the court to declare him a co-author of Ready ’24, demand a full accounting of all earnings tied to the track (which he estimates exceed $500,000), and ensure he receives his rightful share has been reported.
