Kevin McCall Breaks Down on Podcast, While Chris Brown Tours His Songs

R&B singer-songwriter Kevin McCall, best known for penning hits like “Strip” for Chris Brown, had a vulnerable moment during a recent appearance on the Back on Figg podcast. While discussing his turbulent music career, McCall got emotional as he revealed the harsh reality of his current financial situation.

In a raw and unfiltered moment, McCall pulled out his EBT card on camera to show he has no funds available—highlighting the disconnect between his contributions to hit records and his present-day struggles. Meanwhile, Chris Brown is currently on tour performing several songs McCall claims to have written or co-written, including “Strip.”

According to McCall, he is still owed $25,000 in unpaid royalties for four songs he contributed to. Despite once being a prominent figure in the R&B scene, he says he hasn’t received the compensation or credit he deserves.

The moment sparked a wave of reactions online, with fans and fellow artists debating the music industry's treatment of songwriters and the long-standing issue of unpaid royalties.
