Nicki Minaj Reclaims Highest-Selling Female Rapper Crown From Doja Cat!

Nicki Minaj has taken back the title of the highest-selling female rapper for 2024 from Doja Cat. With one month left in the year, Chart Data reported on November 30 that Minaj has outperformed other female rappers this year. Doja Cat is in second place, followed by Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Sexyy Red in the top five. Last year, Minaj and Doja had the opposite rankings, with Megan at third, Cardi B at fourth, and Ice Spice at fifth.

Doja Cat has been mostly quiet this year, aside from releasing a deluxe version of her 2023 album Scarlet before her Coachella performance. She has kept a low profile since and stayed off social media, though she hinted at a "new era" and is expected to return with new music in 2025. On the other hand, Nicki Minaj toured extensively and released several songs, including a special edition of The Pinkprint to celebrate its 10th anniversary, which features bonus tracks, including one with Juice WRLD.

Minaj will finish the year with a deluxe version of her popular 2023 album, Pink Friday 2. She has called this version Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus, which is set to be released on December 13. After the last show of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour in October, Minaj mentioned on her Stationhead radio show that she plans to take a break. However, when her fans started spreading news of her hiatus, she quickly dismissed it, stating she’s not going anywhere and advised them to relax and let things unfold. It seems she does intend to take a break, but also wants to control the announcement herself.
