Kendrick Lamar Was Seen Filming Scenes for "South Park" Creators' New Movie

Kendrick Lamar was seen in California this week filming for a new project by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. A video shared on social media shows the "Not Like Us" rapper working on this much-anticipated live-action comedy. He is producing the film alongside his collaborator, Dave Free, and it is scheduled to release in theaters on July 4, 2025. Earlier this year, Paramount CEO Brian Robbins told Variety that the script is incredibly funny and original, promising it will be a standout. According to Entertainment Tonight, the story revolves around a young Black man interning as a slave re-enactor at a historical museum who learns that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his ancestors. Lamar previously worked with Stone and Parker on his music video "The Heart Part 5" in 2022, where they assisted with the deep fake technology that transformed his face into celebrities like Kobe Bryant and Will Smith. It is uncertain if Lamar will appear in the film, but he has acted before in 50 Cent’s series Power.

This project adds to a busy year for Lamar, who recently released the popular song "Not Like Us" and was announced as the headliner for the upcoming Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Stay tuned for more news about Kendrick Lamar on 103.5 The Beat.
