Rihanna discussed her upcoming ninth album with Entertainment Tonight during the launch party for her FENTY x Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneaker in London on April 17th.
Rihanna and husband A$AP Rocky, both gearing up for highly anticipated new albums, seem to be collaborating on each other's projects, potentially serving as unofficial A&R (Artists and Repertoire) representatives. The Fenty queen expressed how there is so much music between the two of them its hard for them to choose who is going to use what.
In a recent interview with Interview magazine, Rihanna discussed her creative process for her upcoming album, noting a shift from her usual approach. She revealed that she currently has many visual ideas before the music, which is a departure from her typical method where the music precedes visual concepts. This reversal has sparked her curiosity, suggesting that the visual ideas may guide her in creating the songs for this album.

Rihanna's highly anticipated album, affectionately referred to by fans as #R9, has been in the making for several years. Initially confirmed by Rihanna herself in June 2018 during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, details have remained scarce. Despite inquiries about its progress 15 months later, Rihanna remained tight-lipped, emphasizing her confidence in whatever she releases across various ventures, including music, perfume, lingerie, makeup, and fashion.
