Nicki Minaj's highly anticipated album Pink Friday 2 is out today, and fans have created an AI generated world called 'Gag City' to promote the album. Pink Friday 2 is the follow up to Queen, which peaked at No.2 on the Billboard 200 charts. The 22 track album features Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, and Future among others.
The journey began in September when Minaj revealed the album's artwork, showcasing a captivating scene of her aboard a dreamlike sky train en route to a vibrant pink city. The anticipation leading up to the album was playfully dubbed by Minaj and her loyal fanbase, known as the Barbz, as a voyage to Gag City. This clever moniker draws inspiration from the LGBTQ vernacular, specifically the term "gag," which conveys the feeling of being utterly amazed and captivated by something. Towards the end of the November, a group of enthusiasts began envisioning Gag City through the utilization of AI, resulting in the creation of visually captivating depictions of urban landscapes that embody the enchanting and ethereal pink aesthetic.

“This entire album will be the biggest gift I have ever given humanity thus far,” Minaj said in a recent livestream. “I have never in my life been so in love with something that I’m working on.”
Unsurprisingly, Pink Friday 2 shot straight to No. 1 on iTunes in the U.S. Although it has only been a matter of hours since these songs were released, it is highly likely that a significant portion will secure a place on different Billboard charts in the upcoming week. Should the Pink Friday 2 tracks maintain their strong sales, Minaj has the potential to dominate multiple charts, including Digital Song Sales, various rap and hip-hop lists, as well as the Hot 100.
Nicki Minaj will also be headlining the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour on Dec.16 in Miami, so listen to The Beat for more information.
