This week Antonio Brown posted stacks of money and a check for almost $65,000. According to Antonio Brown the check in the picture is from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. AB says the uncashed check was part of a settlement for him playing while injured.
On platform X, previously known as Twitter, is where Brown posted his PSA about his controversial situation of offering him "hush money." This isn't the first time Antonio has called out the Buccaneers organization. Last year, Brown said head coach Bruce Arians forced him to play, knowing his ankle was broken. Brown explained that’s why he left the field mid-game in week 17 in 2021 season.
“Thank you @Buccaneers for hush money Settlement playing me while I was hurt now u can Suck my D***! NFL money rap money” wrote AB in a caption on his X account.
AB and his lawyer Sean Burstyn appeared on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” in January 2022 and continued to make accusations against the Bucs. It's no secret Brown's mental health has been in question by many because of his random rants on social media and "unuusal" behavior. Him and his lawyer also claim the Bucs tried to manipulate the situation in the organizations favor.....
“These guys at Tampa Bay Bucs tried to make an agreement with me to get me $200,000 to go to the crazy house so these guys could look like they know what they’re talking about,” Brown said.
AB's lawyer Burstyn jumped in to confirm the proposal from Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht.
....“The offer was Antonio would basically sit on the sidelines, go on some list, and commit himself to some form of intensive mental health treatment,” Burstyn said. “We were specifically told, in writing by the general manager, twice, ‘Don’t spin this any other way.'”
Rick Stroud, Bucs insider spoke up for the team in an attempt to clear the smoke. Stroud claims, the payment was performance-based payout that had been pushed back due to league rules, not a settlement.
