The Queen Of Hip-Hop/Soul Celebrates An Anniversary!

Mary J. Blige is celebrating the 31st anniversary of "What’s The 411?"

Her introduction to the world and is where she was dubbed by Puff Daddy as the “Queen of Hip Hop Soul”. The album dominated the 90’s R&B scene, as she changed the look of R&B singers dressed in hip hop clothes instead of the typical gowns & dresses.

Her first single, “Real Love”, sampled Audio Two”s, “Top Billin”, and the album featured collabs from Grand Puba, and K-CI Hailey from Jodeci. Despite not hitting number one in the country, the album still remains a classic that's still sampled in today’s music.

Blige has gone on to become one of the biggest R&B singers in the world.

Happy Anniversary Queen!
