HBO announced that Euphoria is halting production!
Due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the acclaimed drama won’t be back until at least 2026.
The SAG-AFTRA executive board will formally approve strike action, and picketing will begin July 14. This will be the first time since 1986 that SAG’s actors will strike, and the first time since 1960, both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA will be on strike at the same time.
“[AMPTP’s response] to the union’s most important proposals have been insulting & disrespectful of our contributions to this industry. The companies have refused to meaningfully engage on some topics & on others completely stonewalled us.” said SAG President Fran Drescher.
Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, called the demands of the WGA and SAG “not realistic,” after making a minimum of $25 million a year, and Disney, made over $80 billion last year.
