Gap has taken legal action against Kanye West, as they are suing him for a sum exceeding $2 million!

This legal move stems from Gap's desire to hold Kanye accountable for any damages resulting from an ongoing lawsuit involving the company. Art City Center, the owner of a building in downtown L.A., had previously filed a lawsuit against Gap. The lawsuit alleges that Gap, with the intention of promoting Yeezy products, made several unauthorized alterations to the leased building during 2021 and 2022. Art City Center seeks compensation from Gap to cover the costs of restoring the building.

In response, Gap has chosen to pass on the expenses to Kanye West, claiming that he is the root cause of their legal predicament. Gap's lawsuit asserts that their contract with Kanye explicitly states that the company cannot be held responsible for such claims. The decision to part ways with Kanye West was made by Gap in September 2022 after he accused the clothing brand of violating the terms of their agreement. Kanye expressed his frustration last year, describing the situation as disheartening and citing misalignment in agendas and internal issues.

Gap is now pursuing a settlement of $2 million, in addition to interest, to cover potential costs they may incur, including attorney's fees. As of now, Kanye West has not issued any public statement regarding the lawsuit.
