Residents in a Miami condo were ordered out of their homes in the middle of the night, by officials.
The building was officially deemed unsafe after unpermitted work was stopped, because the columns are being deemed as “structurally insufficient,” by a city inspector, along with board members.
“It’s very, very sad and it’s very unfortunate, not only for me, but there’s a lot of elderly people that live here,” said resident Maria Lejandro Perez.
The apartment building has 130 units, and while residents were upset, some were thankful for the city for putting them up for the night.
The city is providing housing for the families until the issues are fixed, but It's unknown how long that will be.
