Lil Baby Stands With The Floyd Family At The White House

On the one year anniversary of George Floyd’s death, his family met with President Joe Biden at The White House with attorney Ben Crump and Lil Baby?!

Lil Baby was with the family, as they “try to pass that George Floyd Police Act Bill.”

The George Floyd Police Act bill calls for a national registry of police misconduct, ban racial and religious profiling by police officers, and end qualified immunity for cops.

“We’re just thankful for what’s going on and we just want the George Floyd Policing Act to be passed,” Philonise Floyd, George Floyd’s brother said. “If you can make federal laws to protect the bird, which is the bald eagle, you can make federal laws to protect people of color.”

It's been 1 year since George Floyd was arrested after being accused of using counterfeit money, and then was murdered by former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin.

Chauvin is currently serving time in prison for Floyd’s death, and the three other officers, Tao Thao, J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane will be going to trial together in 2022.

George, was one of the founding members of the late DJ Screw’s Screwed Up Click, a Hip Hop collective of emcees who created the “chopped and screwed” sound. H-Town natives Trae Tha Truth, Lil Flip, Lil Keke, Fat Pat, UGK, Devin The Dude are all Screwed Up Click members and affiliates. Big Floyd became a part in 1994 and was recognized as a local freestyle hero.

“Big Floyd was already a Southside legend in Houston when I met him, because of the Screwed Up Click. DJ Screw was the radio for the city. Big Floyd was already on tapes, and already cool with the guys, and cool with DJ Screw.” said Chris Ward

The jury in the Chauvin trial, convicted the former officer of all three charges: second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Derek Chauvin faces up to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, 25 years for third-degree murder, and10 years for second-degree manslaughter. The jury took just over 10 hours to come to a unanimous decision, it included two alternates, consisted of two white men, six white women, three black men, one black woman, and two mixed-race women.

President Joe Biden said the conviction “can be a giant step forward” for the nation in the fight against systemic racism.

“We can’t stop here,” Biden declared. ‘I can’t breathe.’ Those were George Floyd’s last words. We can’t let those words die with him. We have to keep hearing those words. We must not turn away. We can’t turn away.”

Vice-President Kamala Harris, said racism was keeping the country from fulfilling its founding promise of "liberty and justice for all.”

“It is not just a Black America problem or a people of color problem. it is a problem for every American,” she said. “It is holding our nation back from reaching our full potential. A measure of justice isn’t the same as equal justice.”.
