South Florida Hip Hop Scene Has Boomed With New Talent

The hip hop world has opened up to those who rep South Florida.

From Trick Daddy and Trina to City Girls, Kodak Black, and Denzel Curry.

There's a new wave of artists stepping out into the spotlight.

Ankavious

From North Miami his latest release, “Life Is Short” is one of several tracks Ankavious is planning to release in 2021.

Big Arie

Big Arie has been enticing her fans with “Better Man” as she followed up with her Rico Love-assisted “Wasting My Time.” Arie’s gearing up to drop her new EP, Hurt Ho Music, featuring its the single “Fell Out.”

Johnny Oz

Johnny Oz came up alongside, the late XXXTentacion, after touring with X, Lil Xan, and YG, he dropped tracks like “Jeepers Creepers” along with his EP, Planet Oz, featuring “Coraline” and “Planet 777.”

King Hoodie

King Hoodie over the past seven years, has garnered plenty of fans after dropping his 2015 mixtape, Under the Bridge and delivered his track “Feels Like God.”

Oya Baby

Oya Baby is quickly becoming a hot when she flipped N.O.R.E.’s “Superthug” into her song “Super Thot.” Since she followed up with “Try Me” and “Cinnamon.” Oya Baby in 2021 is teaming up with Int’l Nephew for “Bout It, Bout It.”

$not

$not has been in the mix since 2016. After dropping “Gosha” in 2018, $not returned with TRAGEDY + project, which included the track “Beretta,” featuring Wifisfuneral. $not delivered his most recent release, “Murda Murda.”

Tafia

Tafia Broke into the scene with Street Fanci mixtape, and dropped six projects since 2017, including Street Fanci 2, King Ape, and Love Me While I’m Alive, as well as “Walk,” “Savage,” and “Checkmate.” Tafia made his debut when he released Street Fanci 3 and followed up with Fanci No. 9, a joint EP with MajorNine.

Tierra Traniece

Tierra Traniece released her spoken-word EP My Funny Valentine, and in 2019 her single, “Fool Me Once,” produced by Rippa on the Beat, dominated radio stations. Last year, she delivered her EP The Rookie and the Vet, which brought her most recent song, “Love on the Line,” featuring Cedia.

Xali

Xali has come through with new songs like “Sweet Love,” “Go,” “The Fast Way,” “8th For 50,” and his latest, “Closer.” and dropped his Dolla$ign$leep EP with production from Infamous, Only Ortega, and Whitemayo.

Zoey Brinxx

Zoey Brinxx came out in 2018 when she dropped “Humble Me” and collaborated with Amara La Negra for “Tu y Yo.” She teamed with Kiddo Marv for their song “Red and Blue,” and released her latest solo track, “Female Biggie,” produced by Bigg D.
