The CDC has updated its coronavirus guidelines for childcare centers.
The updated guidance, emphasizes the importance of wearing masks, social distancing, and proper hygiene to help protect children, families, and staff at "child care programs, including child care centers, family child care homes, Head Start programs, and other pre-kindergarten programs."
"This guidance outlines strategies that child care programs can use to maintain healthy environments and operations, lower the risk of COVID-19 spread in their programs, prepare for when someone is sick with COVID-19, and support coping and resilience," the CDC wrote "children should be kept with the same peers and staff to reduce the risk of spread throughout the program."
Increased ventilation by opening windows and doors and provided more information about best practices for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and toys that are shared among children.
