Miami’s most anticipated restaurants, Red Rooster Overtown, will open its doors to the public in Overtown.
Featuring the dishes that made its counterpart in Harlem a hit, alongside Miami-inspired touches as a nod to historic Overtown.
When the pandemic began, the restaurant decided to pivot to a community kitchen cooking up meals for those in need for several months.
Marcus Samuelsson teamed up with Grove Bay Hospitality Group to operate the space. The menu features hot honey fried chicken and Obama’s short ribs, in addition to new dishes like ceviche, grilled local fish, and items like griot and accra.
The eatery is housed inside of the former “Clyde Killen’s Pool Hall” in Overtown, which was a popular nightlife spot in the 1960s. The bi-level restaurant includes a 209-seat main dining room, outdoor garden, large patio, balcony terrace, and multiple private dining rooms.
Red Rooster is open to the public and will be open Sunday to Thursday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until midnight.
