Ticketmaster Developing A Plan To Bring Back Events

The new normal is upon us.

Ticketmaster is considering making coronavirus test results and vaccination statuses mandatory for concertgoers.

The ticketing company will use third-party health information firms CLEAR Health Pass, Labcorp or CVS Minute Clinic to confirm that a customer has tested negative for the coronavirus within the last 24-72 hours.

Ticketmaster assures customers that it will not store any medical information, instead, third-party companies will confirm they do not have coronavirus and then send that verification to Ticketmaster. Anyone who does not verify will not be granted access in to the concert venue.

"We’re already seeing many third-party health care providers prepare to handle the vetting—whether that is getting a vaccine, taking a test or other methods of review and approval—which could then be linked via a digital ticket so everyone entering the event is verified," Ticketmaster president Mark Yovich said. "Ticketmaster’s goal is to provide enough flexibility and options that venues and fans have multiple paths to return to events, and is working to create integrations to our API and leading digital ticketing technology as we will look to tap into the top solutions based on what’s green-lit by officials and desired by clients."
