A 23-year-old from Boca Raton rode his bike to Key West in a day!
Peter Mayer planned the ride, but COVID-19 delayed it, but with a group he planned the ride to October. With his friends riding in a car behind him they streamed the entire ride on Facebook live.
The group gathered donations and raised more than $12,000 for the Nick Mayer Memorial Foundation in memory of his brother, who committed suicide.
The fund helps kids play hockey and a portion of the funds goes toward suicide prevention.
It took Mayer 22 hours to ride from Boca Raton to Key West. He said he hopes he can inspire others and give someone the courage to get help if they are struggling mentally.
